Weightshift (Teladoc Health)
Designing a seamless
end-to-end digital
weight loss journey

The problem
Teladoc’s original weight management flow was fragmented and purely focused on transactional metrics. Patients often felt overwhelmed, lost and disconnected during their journey. At the same time, GPs and dietitians lacked vital qualitative insight into how patients were feeling mentally and emotionally throughout their treatment, a critical factor for long-term weight management success.
My role
End-to-end user journey mapping, qualitative research synthesis, interaction design, and co-created a scalable design system. I worked alongside a Creative Director who defined brand strategy and the rebrand to Weightshift.
The outcome
—
For GPs
GPs no longer just receive weight numbers, they now get a holistic view of the patient's psychological state and emotional trajectory prior to consultations. GP now can address burn out or anxiety early on and offer more empathetic care.
—
For patients
Transformed a confusing, fragmented process into a structured roadmap. Patients always know when they are in a treatment and what happens next, eliminating the feeling of being lost.
Turning products into experiences people love.

What I did
—
Mapped the end-to-end journey
Architected out every touchpoint from initial intake to continuous medical check-ins for the new Weightshift brand.
—
Discovery
Uncovering key friction points with General Practicioners and dietitians in patient physician communication.
—
Rapid prototyping
Rapidly test multiple clinical scenarios to get feedback and iterate early on.
—
Structure and guidance overhaul
Re-architected the patient dashboard and notification system to provide clear, actionable next steps at every stage of the program.
Key decisions & how the journey evolved
—
Initial assumption
Focus heavily on tracking weight logs, BMI, and routine task completions.
—
The decision
Created a reflection flow to capture emotional well-being and qualitative mood trends before clinical consultations.
—
The insight
Conversations with GPs revealed that physical numbers alone don't explain patient progress or drop-off-mental state, stress and motivation do.
